Girls Night Out Friday, August 25!

Fri., August 25, 7-8:30 p.m.: Curious about dance class, but not sure if it's for you? Come join us at Girls Night Out. Everything's free! We'll have refreshments and Safira will talk about the history of bellydance. Then we'll dance! We'll share two 30 minute classes; Tribal and Traditional belly dance. If June or July is your birthday month, we'll have a birthday present for you. Come 10 min. early to get seated before 7. No need to RSVP, just come and enjoy!

New Classes Start September 5!

Welcome to Safira's! Enjoy good health, happy dancing and world culture with us. Our new September-October session starts Tuesday, September 5. We're glad to announce that we're now sharing space with the Jill Landrith School of Dance. Class times are different! Take note.

Classes for Beginners

Belly Sculpt: 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays: A 30-minute abs and back class, followed by 30 minutes of belly dance! Reveal your sensual inner self while sculpting your hips, glutes and abs. Bring a mat, prepare to burn that midsection. Then-- the joy of dance! Taught by Safira Zeki. Cost: $70 for 7 weeks, or $45 if you take another class.

Tribal Fusion Bellydance: 12 noon on Saturdays: Tribal bellydance incorporates moves and costuming from many cultures. Slinky, sexy, fun-loving, lots of body isolations, with wild and fun costumes. Want to dance in tattoos, black fishnets and/or white lace? This may be your style! Taught by Tribal performer Ayita. Cost: Cost: $70 for 7 weeks, or $45 if you take another class.

Higher Level Classes

Intermediate/Advanced Bellydance Technique: 10:00 a.m. Saturdays: Want to move up into intermediate belly dance? Here’s a great chance to learn turns, footwork, changes of facing and balance. This class is for you if you are already comfortable with hip rolls, undulations, sit kicks, and arms in 2nd position. Like Wednesday, but ramped-up a bit! Ask Safira if this class is for you! Taught by Safira. Cost: $70 for 7 weeks, or $45 if you take another class.

Advanced Beg./Intermed. Flamenco: 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays (different location): A fiery dance created by the gypsies who settled in Spain. Want a strong dance? Is belly dance too pretty and soft for you? Kick the floor with us! This class learns technique and performs choreographies. Taught by Safira Zeki. Cost: 1 1/2 hour class is $105 for 7 weeks.

Intermediate/Advanced Bellydance: 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays: A professional bellydance class at intermediate level. Learn turns, where to look while dancing, arms, layered shimmies, higher-level steps and moves. Lots of choreography! Taught by Safira. Ask Safira if this class is for you! Cost: 1 1/2 hour class is $105 for 7 weeks, or $65 if you take another class.

Intermediate/Advanced Bellydance and Gypsy: 7:30 p.m. Thursdays: Part gypsy fusion, part belly dance: Turkish, Lebanese and Spanish dance with lots of Arabic and Egyptian. Saucy skirt dances! Bellydance technique and choreography, Gypsy Cardio! Taught by Safira Zeki. Ask Safira if this class is for you! Cost: 1 1/2 hour class is $105 for 7 weeks, or $65 if you take another class.



See Us Dance

Sunday, August 27, 1:30 and 2:45 pm. We're performing flamenco at the Old Cowtown Museum. Catch us in the Saloon right after the 1:00 gunfight, or right before the 3:30 gunfight. Remember, Sundays at the Old Cowtown Museum (1865 W. Museum Blvd) are free!
